Re: Wildcaught?
The only thing that would look lke a Bearded Dragon in New Mexico would be a horny toad (Horned lizard) but they don't get nearly as large as a Bearded Dragon. And they don't eat vegatables. The diet is ants. Horned Lizards
It is quite possible that it was just someone's pet that got away.

Re: Wildcaught?
That's pretty cool looking, but not what the guy had.
And it was the size of an adult bearded dragon.. I think. It was as big as the biggest I've seen, so yeah. And he feeds it salads and stuff. I think he'd know something was off if it didn't eat it. So I think it's a BD. Should I get it? I have no problem with it, except he's not docile. Is it hard to tame them? Is it possible, after he's already 4 years old?

Nahh, he didn't look like that. He looked like a bearded dragon...
Haha. He was kinda fat though, I think. Unless he was getting defensive and trying to make himself look bigger, but I don't really think so. I'm sorry I didn't get a pic to show ya'll. I can't believe I'd forget my camera! But you know.. that's just like me. x]] The man said he caught it when he was a baby, a few inches long. It makes me so mad that someone would let one go... Could they even survive in New Mexico? Ohhhh yeah I forgot to sayyy: If I get him I'll show ya'll a picture. It probably won't be long... I'm pretty much 99.9% sure he's a BD. But I'm not an expert at any rate so I wouldn't be suprised if I was wrong. Well, I would be in this case... cause he's like, exactly like a bearded dragon. x] But there is always a possibility that its not. And he's been living the way a BD's supposed to be treated for four years, another thing that leads me to believe he is one. If I get it and show ya'll a picture and we find out he's not a BD, what then?

Re: Wildcaught?
From what we are hearing its probably a bearded dragon that someone dumped or it got away.
And yes they could live in New Mexico. Until winter!

Re: Wildcaught?
I doubt this is the case but, if it is we would help you id the animal and then try to find out what kind of care it needs. If it is on a list of protected animals though you would have to find a rescue or someone to take it and do what needs to be done with it.

Re: Wildcaught?
It was a baby, the poor thing.
I'm so glad this man caught it thoughh. I think I've decided to get him when I get the money, which is only $50 so it won't be long. He's a beautiful creature. I love BDs, they're so.. I dunno, different. And he was very healthy, from what I could tell. Alert and I didn't see any problems with his skin. He didn't seem thin either. It all really suprised me, I was expecting to find an unhealthy little guy. Only thing, they said they didn't usually handle him, so that leads me to believe that he didn't get baths. Would there be any problems caused by that?
