Vegas May Be Leaving

This is what our member has to say: Its hard to tell but how wide is that? You could possibly turn that into his new enclosure with a little work...

Re: Vegas May Be Leaving

I haven't measured it, but I beleive it is atleast 3ft. wide. It's not a standard door frame a little bit wider.

Re: Vegas May Be Leaving

A 30gal breeder would probably fit, its 36X18X12. If you want something with more height then you could go with a 40gal breeder or standard 50gal both are also 36X18 but the 40 is 16" tall and the 50 is 19" tall. You would probably want something for the tank to sit on rather than the the floor to help keep bugs out and to keep it warmer. You might even consider using folded blankets or something to insulate that area as well. I don't know if I would try to spray for bugs cause if they don't die right away and Vegas does eat them she would be exposed to the pesticide...

Re: Vegas May Be Leaving

I am only concerned with the top of his cage. The holes in are like a 1/2" and I don't want bugs to be able to fly/crawl in. I was thinking of getting a canopy-like fixture to go on top over his lights and everything. This can have a really fine mesh as the lights themselves would be going through the wider welded wire top. Would this work?

Re: Vegas May Be Leaving

I also recently found out that my brother has a friend with a cracked aquarium. Just will not hold water for his purposes but would work out for Vegas. I beleive it is a 50 gal. I just have to get all of the measurements to make sure it will fit. The tank is free so I'm sure I could do something with it. He is giving me both the tank and the stand.

Re: Vegas May Be Leaving

so sorry about your fire! At least everyone was OK in the end.

I would totally take him if I was in Texas and hang onto him until your new home was built, but I don't live anywhere near you.

50 gallon would be fine for him. Keep us posted. I would take him if I had and empty tank.
