beardie not acting the same

Here is what is going on.My Bearded Dragon will not eat his greens/veggies.All he wants are the live food.Ive been having a problem with feeding him live food due to him not passing it.Its like every 3 to 4 day's I have to soak him in warm water for him to have a bowl movement. When he was eating the greens/veggies I did not have that problem. Now he just wants to lay inside of his log and sleep. He is normaly very active.I have gotten him out and he wont even move around that much.Normaly he would haul butt. When he has a bowl movement its rock hard from the crickets/mealworms.What do I do now?i'm at a loss at what to do.I'm about to freak out because ive done everything in my power to take care of him the correct way and I feel like i'm failing him.

He is in a 55 gallon tank at this time with a bigger enclosure in the works. His basking is at 105 with over all temps at 90.He has a huge hide log that he can go inside and sleep or just to cool down. His substrate is the rep carpet which I use for all my reps. The last time I checked his hide spot(the log) its at 86 degree's.He has since the time I posted this come out to bask so thats a good sign I hope.

Re: beardie not acting the same

Your temps are fine and the entire setup is correct. There may be some impactation, keep up with the warm baths and maybe go a few days without live food and only offer vegs/fruits. It's possible the exoskeletons from the crix/worms are blocking him up. You could even try a few days of feeding him waxworms. There softer but offer no nutritional value.

Re: beardie not acting the same

Well he is acting like normal again today.Gave him a couple of warm bath's today and he was very active afterwards. He even ate some greens.Kept him out for a a few hours so he could roam around and he seemed to enjoy that more today then the previous day's he has been out.

Re: beardie not acting the same

Sounds like he might be having some digestive problems. Like Ken said, stay away from mealworms for a while, because they have a hard exoskeleton, and he could be having a hard time passing that. Try limiting his cricket intake, and offer more greens and veggies. Keep giving him warm baths, as that seems to help him. I'm glad he's doing better.
