Beardie won't eat his greens

My Bearded Dragon will not eat his greens. All he wants to eat are crickets and mealworms, which I only was giving him a few a day along with his greens. So I had to start putting mealworms in a small glass bowl with about 1/4 of an inch of water in it. So that way when he was going after the mealworms he was getting water to drink as well. I tried using a dropper to give him water but he will not go for that. I don't know what else to do about him getting water since he wont eat his water soaked greens, or even not wanting to eat greens. This has been going on for about a week. I keep fresh water in there everyday as well. Please, some advice anyone.....

How old is your Bearded Dragon? What is your feeding schedule. I used to feed mine veggies in the am and left them in all day. Then in the evening I would feed crickets.

Re: beardie wont eat his greens

Mine don't "typically" drink from their bowls but they do get water from their veggies and when bathing. Like marsha, I also feed the veggies in the am. Like you, I typically run the "salad" under water before it goes in the bowls. They eat their veggies daily. lol

When they get their baths, they also consume water. It seems that the waist high water is just to much to resist. lol

Re: beardie wont eat his greens

I'm not sure of his age.The pet shop where I got him at wasent sure of it either. He measure's 17 inches from snout to tip of his tail and 3 inches wide in his midsection.I know that may not help, but i'm just not sure of his age.I feed him greens in the morning and live food in the evening. He did something strange last night while having his bath that ive never saw him do before. He laid his head down under the water then his body expanded flat.So I grabbed him up thought he was going to drown. Is that normal for them to do?His basking is at 105 and the rest of the enclosure is at 90 degree's.His humidity is at 23%.

Re: beardie wont eat his greens

Its normal for them to lower their head underwater. They are drinking. You can always try tricking him and putting some mealies under the veggies to make them seem alive. It seemed to work for some of my Bearded Dragons. If that doesnt work, skip the crickets for a night and he should be good an hungry the next morning for his veggies.
