Soaking
Hey, I just finished soaking my 2 Bearded Dragons and noticed that both seemed to kinda gasp occasionally. It was almost like a burp. When I took Jess out and I noticed that she almost seemed bloated. After a few minutes of being back in her home she looked more like she was back to normal. Just wondering if this is normal behavior or something I should worry about. Its the first time I have noticed either one of them doing it and was thinking maybe the water was a little to warm. It wasn't hot but more thank just luke-warm... any help would be great! Thanks ~Shell

When Bearded Dragons stress they inflate their bodies. This makes them look bigger and meaner. Most times they just flatten out but they are also capable of "swallowing" air.
Some of mine don't like bathing very much and they inflate their bodies like that as soon as they touch the water, even if it's just an inch deep =)

I would have to agree with rbl. Mine have never burped but they will inflate themselves to look big and tough.

Inflating also makes them float!

We have one of our girls that blows up like a balloon she must like floating around lazily, she goes back to normal after being out of the water a while...

Haha....I think it's a Bearded Dragon thing. Mine definelty are not cool with running water and if you run the water with them in the bathroom they go nuts and get all puffed up. Then float just like you said. Now I have heard my uro when I bathe him do the weird sorta noise you heard from the Bearded Dragons. I have not heard either of my Bearded Dragons do it.
