new mom of 2 baby beardies!!!

Hi, I have all sorts of reptiles, but Friday I just got my first bearded dragon babies-2 of them! They look to be around 4 to 6 weeks according to their size about 5 maybe 5 1/2 inches long, but so far they are eating pinhead size crickets and their dark leafy greens well! I do have a book on Bearded Dragons, but I like to get as much information on the pets/animals/family members that I get, LOL...so if anyone has any good tips or information for me, please let me know. I know they are probably too young to sex now but as soon as they are I find out if I have to seperate them or not(if they are 2 boys-I know I will have to seperate them, being they dont get along together) lol you know how guys are...J/K!!! I was upset when I found out that the pet store was feeding them spinach, as I've read it is a big nono for many herps because it binds calcium! But hopefully now that I have them they will be ok...even tho they are small...lol and just too darn cute! Well, I'm tired and rambling here, lol it's time for me to head to bed, please share any tips or helpful hints or recommended reading, thanks for everything!!! Marine

Welcome to the site! You sounds like you are fairly well read up on Bearded Dragons, just tell us anything we can help you with!
What other herps do you have?

Marine,

Good luck with your new babies. I would have to agree that you may have to seperate down the road. Sorry that everyone thought that you were a newbie!

my other critters

Well I currently have 5 Ball Pythons, 3 Redtailed Boas, 1 Dumerils Boa, 1 Savannah Monitor, 2 new baby bearded dragons, 1 red eared slider, 1 yellow bellied slider, 2 japanese firebelly newts, 1 hedgehog, lots o'minows..I just recently found a good home for 1 of the 2, 3ft iguanas I had rescued! YEA! The other is at a friends' reptile store looking for a good home. I've also had in the past kingsnakes, cornsnakes, ratsnakes, gartersnakes, and even a very very temporary dusky pygmy rattlesnake! Three of the above snakes I caught in my garage! A Yellow rat snake, A blue sided FL garter snake, & the dusky pygmy rattlesnake, they were all only kept for a very short time and released away from my subdivision(and any other people too), because other people here unfortunately kill any snake they find. So my husband and I found them a good spot to be released. I also am into reptile rescue and take most any reptile around here that no one else will-with some exceptions of course, because I do have 2 young boys...large snakes and any venomous snakes or other herps are a big no-no in my house, for safety reasons. The redtailed boas are the largest snakes species I will take in. A little more about me, I've worked at a pet store for almost a year, I also was a police dispatcher for over 7 years. And a mom for the last 10 years, I got into snakes a few years ago-I believe 5 years ago. And the last 2 years have been getting into other herps such as lizards, amphibians, turtles, etc LOL!

LOL I love that statement, it doesn't keep mine away or my mother, but pretty much everyone else in my family stays away now! LOL Too funny thanks to everyone for such a warm welcome!
