An elderly gentleman.
A friend of a friend had a Breadie that he is trying to get rid of. I am sooo excited as he is giving it away for free with the tank and supplies! Whoot! I don't think he has been all that well cared for, however, so I am a bit nervous.
By biggest concern is that he is quite old. They think around nine years! Is there anything special he is going to need as an elderly dragon? Actually, it may be a little old lady, I haven't met 'em yet and the ignorent owners have no idea. Sooo, should I be calcium dusting more? Perhaps higher protine diet? ...Help? This is gonna be by first legged reptile!

I would wait and see what his/her condition is before makeing an decisions. Most of the time as your dragon ages ou increase the veggies and decrease the protein, but it all depends on his weight. As my dragons have gotten older, they have gotten lazy, they just lay around and bask. Keep us posted and let us know how he is when you get him.

Congratulations! Bearded Dragons are great reptiles to keep, they are still by far one of my faves!
His/her age doesn't impact on the care at all, hopefully he/she will have been kept very well as Bearded Dragons only live on average 12-15 years. Good luck with it all. When are you planning on getting the little fella? Please post some pics! ![]()

Thanks for the help. As I said I haven't seen him yet... so I don't really know what he's like. Meep! I am nervous now! I may get to meet him tonight, but I can't take him until after the weekend, since my sister is comming down from Montanna to visit and things are gonna be crazy. I may see him sometime this evening, though, as one of my reptile loving friends is going to be kind enough to board him until I can. Her Kingsnake just died, though.... so I am hoping she doesn't get emotionally attached and refused to give the fellow up!
The moment I can I will be posting pictures! Until then I await nervously...
