Eating Veggies

I'm not sure but I think I have a very spoiled bearded dragon on my hands. He has refused to eat his veggies for the past week or so. I don't think he even nibbles at them. Normally when he eats he will get them on the substrate around his food dish. Lately, it has been perfectly clean. Cricket wise, I have been feeding him every other day. He does fairly well on his crickets. He is about 11 months old and at least 18 inches long. How can I remedy this? He needs to be eating his greens! Should I lay off completely on the crickets until he starts eating the veggies? Surely he will get hungry enough to eat the veggies but I don't want to starve him. Any ideas?

What salad items do you feed him? If you don't already, add some shredded butternut squash to the top, that makes mine go ballistic.

Mine LOVES butternut squash as well. However, when I place them over his veggies he will pick it off the top and not eat his greens! I guess I should mix it up more. Last week I mixed in parsely, collard greens, two rasberries, two radishes, and some red cabbage. He nibbled at the colorful stuff but he still did not eat hardly anything.

at 11 months he's still young and should be eating crickets every day. as for you veggie problem first try adding fruits. check out beautifuldragons.com for a complete food list under nutrition. if he only eats the fruits try dipping the veggies in 100% apple juice. that way they hold that flavor. if he eats it that way slowly decrease the amount of AJ until you aren't using it any more. you could also try dropping it in front of him since they respond to movement or try using a pointer laser and lead him to them.

Dragon King, watch what all you mix together. adding too many treats at once is like feeding a huge amount of one and can do some harm to your draogn.

What I did to get spike int the habbit of eating his veggies is I put some baby food on top of the vegitables the thicker vicosity the better ans I put crickets upside down in the baby food and they were stuck and they would wiggle thier legs and he would come eat the salad and after a few weeks I never had to worry about it again.

Lol . Thanks. It also came out of my hatred for escaping crickets that would get into crevices and little spike could eat them so I fixed them good MWAHAHA.
