not eating crickets
Monday I started to feed my about 9 month old Bearded Dragon downstairs because the cricket were smelling up everything upstairs now that its getting hot out. She wouldnt eat downstairs monday or tuesday so I got worried and started to feed her upstairs again. She still hasnt eaten any crickets yet but she is eating an ok amount of greens daily. Do you think she is stressed from the moving around or do you think something is wrong? I have also noticed that she is kind of lethargic. Do you think she has parasites? IS the only way to be sure if she does or does not have parasites to take her to the vet?
Thanks for your help

Bill,
A vet check once a year is always a good idea. That will be the only way to see if your BD has parasites. The moving can stress her but if she is eating her salad everyday I wouldn't be too concerned about the crickets. Check your temps, if you think it's getting too hot in the house chances are it's getting too hot in her enclosure. |

It's quite unusual for her not to be eating the crix as Bearded Dragons, esp. young ones, seem to prefer live food, and like the movement of food. It's a more positive sign that she is still eating greens though,. what veg are you feeding her?
I doubt the move from upstairs would have done her any harm or stress - she is still in the same tank? It could be likely that is too hot, as suggested by esbat, make sure your temps are ok. How does her poop look? Is she hydrated? - as young dragons do well being misted frequently so they can drink the water as they are spritzed, making sure the enclosure doesn't get too humid. The lethargy is worrying,. yes, the only way to ensure that parasites aren't present is a vet visit. If possible take a fresh faecal example with you so they can run a test - the cheapest and quickest way of checking for parasites. Good on you for getting her checked out, let us know how it goes on. ![]()

The vet is treating her for parasites although he wasnt sure if she had them and he gave her an appetite stimulant. He told me to get some baby food and mix it with water, calcuim, and the vitamin powder and force feed it to her.
