Good luck getting my picky little brat to eat it though.

Re: The Perfect Beardie Salad

LOL when I had my bearded dragon, he was a brat when it came to veggies! I fed him mostly crickets when he was young, so he wasn't introduced to salad. It's fascinating that they do like and dislike different types of fruit. I used to notice him picking out the things he liked and turning his nose up at things he didn't.

Re: The Perfect Beardie Salad

Hi. I'm new here but I have learned a way to get the little' guys to eat their salads...add a few nice wiggly
mealworms. I did that for my beardy Crush and now he eats a big salad every day even without the mealies. :-)

I do this as well. I always add a superworm or two for the "wiggle" affect. Sometimes that's the only thing that will get my *baby* Bearded Dragons attention. PS - the meal worms are weak...not big at all, in case you're wondering.

But what if a baby (and I mean real young, like 4 inches long) gets a hold of a superworm that is about the same size as HE is? Can he eat it?

Re: The Perfect Beardie Salad

Feeding worms and crickets that are to big can be deadly. That is a yummy looking salad although neither of mine care for collards too much, they'd rather have mustard greens strange girls lol.

Re: The Perfect Beardie Salad

Ours love nasturtium flowers and leaves, Pansy flowers, Butternut Squash, Llolo Rosso and Dandelion flowers and leaves. Our front flowerbed is planted for them, no slug and snail killers allowed and no pesticides of any description. It all had to be grown from seed this year. :-)

Oh forgot about my beautiful Dahlia flowers! Thought they would be safe from being eaten. lol
