I am adopting a 4 yr old dragon that according to the owner only gives crikets a couple times a month. I am thinking that it is not enough. The owner says that the main staples of his diet is pellets and lettuce, peas, watermelon. Now I know from raising my iguana that lettuce has no nutritional value so I am definetly getting rid of that from his diet. What about the other things.

Any sugesstions would be great

If you have the ability to keep bulk amounts of crickets at home then you can feed daily in small amounts. If not then I would suggest about every 3-4 days as many as the dragon will eat in about 20 min. Veggies, you want to give a variety of things. Collard Greens, Clover, Squash, and carrots were favorites of my dragons when I had them.

oh and blue berries make a good treat every once in a while.... And also forgot to add that the fresh veggies should be given once a day.

You can feed the basic diet that you would feed to an iguana with the addition of insects.
