Oh boy, here's my chance to teach a little something.
Pumpkin is technically a "fruit". We talk all the time about our animals and their behaviors to survive and reproduce. Plants also have have means to do this. one way is for a plant that produces a fruit. The plant is basically saying to the animal,"Hey, I'm offering you this tasty treat if you'll just spread my seeds for me."
Animals are always tearing up fruit to eat never knowing that is exactly what the plant wanted. A wider seed dispersion means a greater chance that their "Offspring" survives.
I don't know of any fruits(Technical or otherwise) that are hazardous to animals. Even my carnivorous reps would at the most get a bad case of gas.
