Feeding house centipedes to BD?
I would probably never actually have the nerve to catch one of these things, but if I had some crazy whim of bravery, could the bearded dragons eat house centipedes? We have a surplus of them in the house this time of year and they totally creep me out
!! I can take spiders, worms, bees, bats, just about anything. BUT, I freak out when I see these things! We do not use any type of pesticides in our house (hence the surplus of pests ) so that wouldn't be an issue. Just wondering your thoughts on the idea.... ![]()

Re: Feeding house centipedes to BD?
I don't feed my pets anything that isn't specifically raised as lizard food. There are too man risks, what if it came from the neighbors after eating some pesticides? Plus some wild critters can carry nasty parasites, or be poisonous themselves. Bearded Dragon's with parasites are not fun to treat, I never take the risk.

Re: Feeding house centipedes to BD?
I agree with Lacey. There is no telling what they have gotten into prior to them coming to visit you. And some insects are toxic.
A single firefly can kill an adult Bearded Dragon!

Re: Feeding house centipedes to BD?
I totally agree. Never feed anything from outside. Not to mention they have a hard exoskeleton which would make it difficult for the Bearded Dragon to digest properly.

Re: Feeding house centipedes to BD?
That would not be a fun thing to find in a litter box ~ but then, is there anything fun in a cats litter box
Thanks for the input, like I said, I wouldn't probably have to nerve to actually catch one ~ they remind me of walking eye-lashes .
