Eggs Collapsing!!

omg, I am in a panic- Margarita laid 12 eggs on April 6, been in incubator @ 84 F since laid- humidity is unsure cuz I think the hygro isn't working... Anyway, I looked at them last night before bed.. temp was 86.9 and saw they had started to collapse, and gotten soft... I told hubby and he said they started that several days/week ago.. I adjusted the temp, it's just under 82 now.. but I'm freaking. I have no idea what to do now- these are my first eggs-
Hubby kinda took over the eggs once they were laid and I haven't been able to do anything but look thru the window of the inc. It's way too early for them to start hatching-it's only been 40 days??!!?

Re: Eggs Collapsing!!

Could be low humidity, 40 days is a bit early but they could be starting to dent. It normally happens about a week before hatching.

Re: Eggs Collapsing!!

yip denting is an almost sure sign of low humidity. What are you keeping the eggs on...vermiculite?
