questions about taking spike out side

hi, its been a while since ive been on here, busy as always. i have a few questions about spike and the way he reacts to being outside, first of all when we sit in the sun he turns real dark, and not just his beard, he especially doesnt like the birds flying over head!! we have been going out every day for about 4 weeks now and he still freaks out, he acts scared to death!!! is this normal? is his color change normal? how long should we be out side for him to really benefit from the sun? any help or advice will be helpful
thanks
chris

this is all pretty normal. most dragons freka out when the come in contact with the outdoors and the sun. its so much birhgter than what their used to. The color change can either be he's upset or turning darker to absorb more heat. and the birds going overhead tell them instictively that a predadtor is coming. they do the same thing to planes. the sun is the very best source of UVb and in order to ahve happy healthy dragons they should get about 1-2 hours of sun as often as possible.
