Big Problem!

My bearded dragon has sort of an addiction/obsession/problem...
For the last two days he has been running to the cold side of the tank and laying down there for hours upon hours until I move him... Then again, when I move him he just runs back with in 5-10 minutes.

i removed everything that could be distracting him on the cld side because he was running against it a couple times, then he just runs over and stays in the area. I can't feed him because he is too cold and refuses to eat and he is stressed when I go to feed or touch him since he is in lazy mode. I don't think it;s reflection which is attracting him over there because he had been in the tank for months and has yet to do it.

I really need to feed him and he really needs to eat his greens and drink water.

What could I do or what could be possibly wrong.

I know the temps are perfect, humidity is fine, and he has converted to medium crickets since last week. He has pooped already and has not eaten after that so no bacteria growth is in him.

Please help me I am very worried and confused

He is about 7 months, and 13 inches.

Well, I'm not sure if he wants to brumate. He ran right to his rock when I was staring at him on the cold side. He has been there soaking up the uv rays for about 30 minutes or so.

Our adult male is doing the same thing. He will wake up and eat a bit and then go right back to sleep.Try giving him some sheets of newspaper to hide under and you won't see him for days! My understanding is this will go on for a couple of months!
It's just part of keeping the species. A part that for whatever reason most of the care books do not seem to address! If not for discussions with other Bearded Dragon keepers I would have thought something wrong with him.

Kathy wants him to wake up and come out to play! She tried to keep waking him up but he would go right back to sleep.

I finally convinced her to leave the poor guy alone!

Tolkein and Summer are the same at the moment, they are just lying there not moving, its just not like them, Tolkein will eat a locust or cricket if it walks by but won't hunt them, and Summer is hardly eating anything, Iv'e been worried about them, it must be a winter thing, when I take Tolkein out for his daily sitting on my bed he goes back to his normal self running round the bed bobbing at everything in sight, but Summer just runs back into the tank

I'm more worried about Summer as she is too thin, she needs building up, I think Tolkein is telling her she can't eat till he has eaten all the best, I have been seriously thinking about seperating them, but will need to buy a tank for Summer first. But thats not a problem.

All this behavior seems pretty normal. All of my adults are being lazy and not eating. I just keep soaking them twice a week to keep them hydrated and put them back on the log. It is really frustrating when they do this.

Parasites

It could be brumation, yes. But you DO have to consider parasites of some sort. When Bearded Dragons become ill with parasites this usually tires them and makes them only want to sleep. Some people have confused parasites with brumation! Definitely get a fecal done just to rule out parasites! Better safe than sorry.

Good Luck and keep us posted!!!

Ciao for now

don't Bearded Dragons only brumate after they turn about a year old?
