My bearded dragon has gotten a bit sluggish in the month and a half that I've had him. He used to chase his crickets down with such gusto and eat a whole lot of them. Not so much anymore. He sits on his tree under the light, rarely moves around, and when I put crickets in he only eats about 2 or 3 then just watches the other ones. His temp under the light is usually at 105. The only thing I can think of is he is not getting enough uvb so I ordered one of the mega ray bulbs but it hasnt showed up yet. He also hissed at me yesterday when I put my hand in his tank but that's expected since I put my hand in from above him. My screen top is also a really fine screen. I probably need to by a different one.

When he deficates, is it normal or runny? What kind of UVB do you have and how far from the light is he?

Yes, if you have fine screen, the UVB isn't getting to him. The holes need to be at least 1/4 inch. Instead of getting a new top. Just pull out some of the weave to make bigger holes where you need it.

Right now I just have a florescent tube with a 5.0 uvb light, but I ordered a mega ray like 4 days ago but it hasn't showed up yet. How long do they usually take, does anybody know?

I was thinking about cutting a big hole with a knife right under the uvb light.

Make sure he can get within 6-8 inches of his uvb light. Could he be getting ready to shed? I know my baby is miserable when he starts to shed she stops eating and wants nothing to do with anything.

He shed already. I'm still waiting on my mega ray. Does anybody know how long they take to ship em?
