And yes, ... |

And yes, I removed the shield.
Should I just get a mega ray and be done with it? If so, what wattage? He is a baby in a 40 gallon tank and is able to come within, I would say, 3-4 inches of the bulb.

Re: A Little Concerned
The Zoomed 5.0 is the old stand by for flourescents! And with flourescents you will need 2 tubes.
Zoomed also does make a MV lamp.
Personally I would go with the megaray!
Of course you will have to alter your setup. You will need about 12 inches between the MR and the lizard or you will cook him!

Re: A Little Concerned
LOL. Well I can always move his banzai to the other end and put a log under the light. But he really loves that tree and I wouldn't want him hanging out on the cool side all day. I guess if he's smart enough, he'll figure out he needs to sit on his log under the light from time to time.

Re: A Little Concerned
Is it true you can't use the mega ray bulbs with the dimmer fixtures? Because that's what I have.

Nope you can't use a dimmer. It's either full on or nothing.
Oh and just for the record,...its Bonsai.
I used to grow them!
Banzai is what the japanese suicide pilots yelled before they crashed into a ship!

Re: A Little Concerned
Oh yea, gotcha. So I have to get a different fixture or I just have to have the dimmer turned all the way up?

Re: A Little Concerned
So he is done shedding and is still not going after the crickets like he did when I first got him. Although his belly appears to be rather large. He does poop alot so I'm sure he's not impacted. And he is still being very stubborn. I can't catch him. He used to let me pick him all the time but not so much anymore.

Re: A Little Concerned
Some Bearded Dragons just dont like Crickets. My big mama will turn her nose up at them and my baby girl gets very stressed If there is one in there cage. try a different insect. As for not wanting to be held I would say just keep holding him whether he wants it or not. My little one tends to try me alittle more as she is reaching her "teenage" years.

Re: A Little Concerned
He still eats crickets, but doesn't go after them with the gusto that he used to. Got any suggestions on other feeders?
