Re: Odd Behavior

Is there a Banfield near you? They are usually part of a petsmart store and will have a vet that is experienced with reptiles. He may not be there every day tho. Mine comes in on thursdays and he is very experienced and helpful.

Not necessarily. I got to visiting with the one near me one day when I went in shopping with my big iguana.
He may be fine with dogs and cats but what it came to reptiles the guy didn't know squat!

Re: Odd Behavior

Thank you so much for the research info I really appreciate it. There isn't a Banfield near me, but in the area I live I would question it. I don't know if they are one in the same, but I would be uncomfortable seeing a vet out of a larger pet store because the ones from around here don't display their reptiles well. They put tiny Bearded Dragons and geckos on display with questionable substrate like sand and will pack them into tanks with food that seems much larger than they should be eating. Hopefully it's not like that everywhere, and it might not have anything to do with the vet at all but it makes me really hesitant. I've been doing some research off the two sites and I'm going to try to find a vet who actually owns some sort of reptiles because my previous vet was specific to exotics, but it seems she specialized more in birds.

See that's the thing, the reptile vet that I have doesn't work for petsmart. In fact, he recommended I buy tanks and accessories from the expos and NOT at petsmart because stuff is overpriced.

And Merlin, are you sure they don't have a reptile vet come in on a certain day of the week? That's how it is at mine, he comes in on thursdays. Aside from him, nobody knows anything about reptiles.
