If you have any melanin-challenged morphs I wouldn't expose them to more UV than the ambient amount in the room but that's just me. Can we see a pic of your set up? None of my leo set ups look good enough that I worry about the lights

They have them in the T8's. That is what I would get. Actually I would get the cheapo industrial T8's, as they are 1/8 the price and last much longer and are much more effecient and pretty much the same. The UV fluros ware out and are practically useless in a few months, actually thats the way it is with most fluros, and if the bulb burns hot it will ware out even faster.

I dont have a pic of thier new setup yet, im hopefully getting a digital camera for xmas so I hope to be able to get new pics soon. By melanin-challenged do you mean albino, blizzard n such? The lights are primarily for photoperiod control I just thought it might be helpful to have a reptile uv light as my girls are frequently out and about during the day.

As for the UV flouro the UV is said to last a year.... now to use a T8 bulb do I have to do anything special to my fixture as it uses a T10 bulb? or is it just plug n go?

Yes I mean any morph that doesn't produce melanin normally. I don't care for the term albino since it isn't terribly situationally accurate so I avoid using it. More than the UV light in the room could harm such animals.
