Mega Ray 2 in 1
I have a question for you pros.
Can you use the 100 watt Self Ballasted Bulb from mega ray as a 2 in 1, basking spot lamp and uvb source?
Also, if I use this bulb, what is the suggested basking distance from this bulb for a Chinese Water Dragon?

Re: Mega Ray 2 in 1?
The minimum tank size for a MVB is a 40 gallon. If you're using the 100 watt I think it's 12-18 inches.

Re: Mega Ray 2 in 1?
Yes, its a basking/UVB/heat all in one. I think the site offers directions on height from animal.

Re: Mega Ray 2 in 1?
Do you think it'll be enough to heat a 60-70 gallon tank?

Re: Mega Ray 2 in 1?
Just watch your temps. If it's getting to hot, prop it up a few inches on a brick or two.

Re: Mega Ray 2 in 1?
Also a word of advise on MVB's. You can not use dimmers with them.

Re: Mega Ray 2 in 1?
Thankies. I don't really trust dimmers with the normal lights either.
Oh another question. I wanted to make my own tank lid. For the hardware mesh would 1/4" be okay, or should I go with 1/2"?

Re: Mega Ray 2 in 1?
1/4 is ok. 1/2 is better.
