I don't recall exactly how you're setting everything up. It would be better to have the MVB inside the enclosure and protected with mesh. Putting it on top of a screen lid will make it difficult to keep humidity in the enclosure.

I'd say cover the top of the tank, wherever you DON'T have the heater.

The other half had come with a glass lid so I'm leaving it there. I might cover it with wood if the glass doesn't help much.

So on the other side (think tank divided into two) will be screen top for the lamp.

Well I was thinking of putting it in the enclosure but I have no way of clamping it on. I just don't like the clamps that the lamps come with.

EDIT: Do the bulbs give off white light, yellow light or green light? It seems that some of the mega rays give off a green tone.

My megarays give off a warm yellow cast.

My T-Rex active UV gave off a white/yellow light, much like that of a day-glo bulb. 100 watts should be more than enough for 60-70 gallons. I used a 150 for my 90 gallon tank, and it got the basking side nice and hot: up to 110. (This was for a bearded dragon) Although the clamps that come with the bulbs look flimsy, they actually work very well. However, if you're uncomfortable using them, they sell a variety of clamps at hardware stores such as Lowes and Home Depot. Good Luck!

What lamp fixtures are you guys using for the mega-ray bulb? I can't seem to find any lamps that will fit my megaray and don't have aluminum reflectors inside.

I found a Zoo-med deep dome fixture, but alas it has an aluminum interior, which will increase and magnify the rays... something I don't want

Any suggestions are appreciated! thanks in advance

I have my megaray in a wire cage fixture, it was the only thing deep enough that my local hardware store carried. I just took the bulb to them and told them I needed a rated fixture it would fit in.

Would the cage fixture not be as good as a dome type fixture?
Especially if there are people around, I don't know how the rays might affect people.
I hope I make sense. lol

You know that the top half of the bulb has opaque silver paint on it, right?

Well that's what I thought too. lol. But, on the warnings that come with the instructions, it stated that the rays may affect people, thus should not be placed in a high traffic area.
