Ma'am--that's pretty funny. Not sure why I didn't see this thread before now but anyway. Looking forward to the completion date. I believe the effective distance for the mercury vapour bulbs(and that's what I'd recommend) is around 24" from new.(someone correct me if I'm wrong) If you have some higher branches I believe you'll be alright. Just mount a box frame covered with very wide mesh.(not too wide that he'll get in though), in one of the top corners to hold the fixture. Put a hinged side on one end for access to the bulb. I'll try to find some pics somewhere but don't hold your breath ma'am(that's still funny) The optimal distance fot the heat lamps you'll have to play with. I suggest a rheostat. It makes it a lot easier. Depending on how the enclosoure will hold heat in will determine how much heat output you'll require. You don't want to have to put in a 100 watt + bulb. They will dry the air out rather quickly. If need be as suggested mount it under a shelf and protect it as well. Oh yeah if you use a lamp hood for the uvb bulb make sure it's a shiny inside one and not the white ones. The shiny ones help by reflected out more of the uvb rays.
