Large fixture/enclosure

This fixture belongs to my friend's pet shop. She asked me to build the counter top and finish the 2 areas off for reptiles. These are pics of various stages...

Counter top, you can't see the pattern but it resembles snake skin. It is various colors of yellow

Front, I am going to remove the formica and paint the entire fixture. You can also make out one of the light fixtures. It will be mounted to the underside of the countertop.

This is the right end, this is going to be the "desert" end. The red stuff is old adhesive as that end was finished with formica. I am going to sand that surface painting it a rich sand color.

This is the rear of the unit. The doors are on the "desert" end. The 18" or so inbetween the two spaces houses the electrical outlets.

I built this shelf to create a basking area. The heat lamps are located in the center of the enclosure, out of reach of any occupant. The floor is made to be compatible with Under Tank Heater's. It is made from 1/4" plexiglass and covered with linoleum tiles. The floor is elevated 1" to accomadate the electrical conduit. I made it from plexi so that it would get good heat transfer from the Under Tank Heater's

I plan on finishing the walls of the "desert" enclosure with polystyrene and tile grout. If anyone has any suggestions on how I can improve on the setups please let me know. Please keep in mind that it is only about 30% complete so don't judge it too harshly yet!
