Here is a picture of Lily the iguana who came to us in horrendous condition. It has taken us months but believe it or not we have managed to get all but one little spot healed. Unfortunately we do not know how she got burned but we have our suspisions.

How much pain must she have been in! At least she has you know and will hopefully live out her days in a caring and knowledgable home.

    burned iguana

Unfortunately you can see the pain in their eyes but that is now gone and she is very happy and healthy. We have to say our volunteers love what they do.
Lily did soak in the water alot.
We believe in natural rehab and worked very well and it is faster and less invasive. The animals seem to enjoy the love and affection.
    Another success story.

Well done for getting her out of the awful situation she must have been in and giving her the love and attention she so deserves.

Would it be okay with you if I use your photograph on a UK webiste (obviously with recognition to yourself) to show of the risks of not using the correct heating devices and stats and the extremees that can occur?

It would be very good also if we could see a picture of Lily the right way up

Yikes, that is terrible! Do you think it was a malfuctioning heat rock or something, or do you think it was intentional abuse?

    burned iggy

The iguana came to us in a very filthy cage, it was severely neglected. People just throw in big heat rocks without checking the temperature. We never really know what happened to the iguana.

A heat rock was my first guess as well. When they are given no other heat source they tend to lay on them in a desparate bid to get warm.
This should serve as a warning to anyone who still believes that heat rocks are safe.
