Hey herpcenter. I do a lot of reading here, but not much posting. A (long) while back, I posted some pictures of my juvenile iguana I saved from a certain 10-gallon grave. The family named him Neech, and he (she?) has been living the healthy lifestyle ever since.
Currently:
TL ~40 inches
snout to vent length ~12 inches
I know the first thing you're all going to ask me about is the set up, lighting, diet, etc. So, I'll get that all out of the way.
Neech was recently moved into a cage that is 7 x 3 x 4.5, with room for expansion upwards. He basks underneath a 100watt bulb that heats his favorite spot to mid 90s. Adjacent, there are two 24'' 5.0 t5 bulbs, exo-terra brand, I believe. The humidity in my room is already between 50-60% (which is a drag for me, but great for the critters!), and he is sprayed down several times a day. He usually wont drink out of the provided water, but he will drink out of the spray bottle if I dribble it on his nose. He is bathed once or twice a week, but still isn't a fan. The enclosure has lots natural wood logs of varying thickness, but since his cage just expanded quite a lot, I'm still furnishing the other half. Neech is a true vegan, just like his owner! He's fed a diet of mustard greens, collard greens, and dandelion greens as a base, and whatever else is on sale at the produce section that week. He's fed a pretty decent variety of foods, all of which are passed on greenigsociety's food chart. Occasionally, when I don't have a chance to make it to the store, he is fed a pelleted diet. I wouldn't say that happens more than once or twice a month.
Now, I don't know his exact date of birth, but I brought him home on September 5th, 2010. I'm assuming that he'll be coming up on the two year mark here fairly soon, and I'm starting to wonder, is he a she? Here are some pictures, let me know what you think!

Not happy about the cell phone in his face.

And last but not least, neech and his owner. Excuse the teenage facial hair.

I'm happy to say that Neech is a happy (sometimes moody), fat, green lizard who seems to be doing very well. I love him very much, even if the feeling isn't always mutual!
Feelings? Thoughts? Further questions?
