    Sick Iguana :(

Okay I have had my iguana about a month and just 5 days ago he was fine he would walk around the cage and drink water and eat and he would run if I tried to pet him and he was doing really good but then I stayed at my sisters house for the weekend and my mom forgot to take care of him over the weekend, not sure if this did anything but now he doesn't move at all
and he wont eat anything and he just sits there when I pet him kinda like he is dying but he was doing soo good and now I don't know what to do

And also his tummy looks a little lumpy too.

I'm so sorry that you are going through this, buf you order those things online now, your iggy may be dead long before you get them. Those are things you should have had BEFORE you got your iguana. There is no way for us to tell what is wrong with him. He needs a vet! Sometimes you have to drive a good distance for a reptile vet.

Were his lights left on or off? This will help determine if he is too hot or too cold.

If he hasn't had any food or water and his tank is dry or too hot, he is probably dehydrated. One thing you can do for him while you are finding a vet is to soak him. Put a little warm water into a container and let him soak. You never want it higher than shoulder level, but I'd put even less for an iguana this lethargic. Don't burn your iguana with the water.

Here are two sites you can read to help you:

The Iguana Den - Iguana Care

Take him to the vet today like right now if you can. What is your substrate if he didnt have anything to eat he may have ate that. this will certainly cause an obstruction.

Please list exactly how you are housing him and how old he is. Type of enclosure, size humidity, temps, diet, type of lighting, and anything else you can think of.

Oh NO! So sorry to hear that he passed away! He may have been sick before you purchased him! Did you ever have a fecal done?

    No .
I thought I was prepared but I guess not
His skin was dark when I got him .
The pet store I bought him from was feeding him Carrots and lettuce, not sure if those are bad for him or not

Sounds like he wasn't feed properly, lettuce has no nutritional value and carrots are not a staple veggie!

An Iguana is not for everyone, they require a proper diet, enclosure, heat, lights, and not knowing what is correct will effect the outcome of its health!
