Can, jar, whichever. Its not the supplements he needs. Fresh greens and veggies with calcium powder are best.

That's pretty much a basking bulb. Do you remember how much it was? A good quality UVB bulb will run you between $30 and $50 and will have to be replaced anywhere from 6 months to a year, depending on the kind. We recommend a Mercury Vapor bulb from Welcome To ReptileUV - Mega-RayŽ UVB lamps for reptile lighting worldwide since they produce the best UVB out there and last up to a year, instead of the normal 6 months a regular bulb makes it.

Then its possible..... but you never know unless you are sure. Its probably only good for another few months, so consider upgrading next time.

If that is the case then you have been ripped off. That bulb only produces UVA and will only benefit your lizard by providing heat. I see them all they time when dealing with people.

You have a couple of options to look at, the best option would be to buy a Megaray from Welcome To ReptileUV - Mega-RayŽ UVB lamps for reptile lighting worldwide and use it for heat and UVB.

If you opt not to do that against everyone's advice your other option is to buy a florescent UVB bulb. You'll want to get ATLEAST a 5.0, an 8.0 or 10.0 would be better and make sure that you DO NOT buy the spiral style light. You need the long florescent tubes. The Spirals are either dangerous or useless. Don't be fooled by at pet store emplyee into believing any different.

Also, next time that fancy basking bulb goes out you can buy a new one for $8 from a hardware store. Put the extra $22 into a fund to buy a megaray.

Re: Help My Iguana Has a Lump

You can't use a florescent bulb from your dad's work. It is a special order bulb that is made specifically for reptiles. Regular lights are made especially to BLOCK UVB because it fades your furniture and carpets. These bulbs are made to PRODUCE UVB. They are expensive and don't just leave them laying around.

Also they must be change every 6 months even though they are still producing light.

It really is in your (and your iguana's) best interest to get a Mega Ray from reptileuv.com.

Re: Help My Iguana Has a Lump

First the bulb should never be able to make contact with your ig at all. I say you make a screen for your lights, hardware cloth will work perfect for you. Home depot a roll of it is like $4. Do you have a humidifier you can set next no his cage until you wrap it in plastic. I have a half mesh cage and the humidity hovers between 75% and 85% plus is good for YOUR breathing also. For a new cage keep an eye on garage sales for a free standing cabinet like basically a free standing closet. You cut basically cut portions out of the doors and screen them so 3/4 of your cage isn't screen good luck.
