As far as Ocsar, help yourself, I will do a driveby........as I roll up to your house I will kick him out the door and drive like a crazy woman, lol.

I am not sure if you really want him,, he is not a perfect example of what a sulcata should look like, he has pyramidding and remember his shell has damage done to it by a dog. It is of course up to you, lol

I am not sure if it would put out the wrong kind of message,, you know the one,, its okay if you tort looks like this, when in all actuality its not. Who knows, i could be wrong, lol
Actually I don't think it would be a bad idea, as long as you throw in a paragraph there somewhere with his story. Would be a good educational idea as well as showing people that rescues are needed and that they should give these animals a chance rather than buying from breeders or stores...

Good idea, Shell. That could even make a great back cover.

Re: Would You Buy a HC Calendar?

what if it was turned into a rescue calendar? or what if we had stories on the animals instead of care sheets?

I only have voted "No" because I have already created a reptile calendar for the Suncoast Herp Society.

Lacey, I could take some pictures of Stanley... his shell is beautiful. I think it's a great idea to offer several different calendars. Caresheet, Rescues only, species, etc.

For the past several years, I've been planning a Gil calendar. Probably just for family, but who knows...

No one "has" to buy a calendar. lol We won't hold it against you. I don't expect every user on HC to purchase one. The idea is to make them available for those that may be interested in one.

Get Stanley and his harem of ladies together for a photo shoot, that would be really neat.
Guess I have one more good excuse to come visit Steph!

Re: Would You Buy a HC Calendar?

How 'bout you made one with comedy like this one:

We could draw our own cartoons. That one was not mine but I've got a few ideas. I did go to art school when I was in my early twenties. I just loved "The Far Side"

Re: Would You Buy a HC Calendar?

Not sure if it would work, but perhaps a larger repuatable breeder would be willing to have professional photos of a particular specie done and sent to you in exchange for there name and website/phone number/email printed in the calendar, some may even already own rights for pro photos already. just a thought, though I do think it would be cool to have a user submitted calendar, just probaly wouldnt sell to anyone outside the forums.
