Vega$ has been finally laid to rest & Thank You's to Rich

Thank you everyone for all the emails, myspace visits, and posts. I'm still regularly blogging at <B>http://www.myspace.com/vegasiguana</B> if you wish to read about my thoughts and memories of Vega$. I'm trying to catch up individually with everyone. It'll take me a while, as I've been working alot, pouring myself in networking for IRCF, making new friends on MySpace and blogging. Also still have been working on the rewrite of lyrics for Vega$. Heck, I even did a photo shoot and worked on a web page design for furries (4 shetland sheepdogs); things I do to keep busy, eh?

Vega$ was cremated Saturday, which also marked 2 years with Darby, who is now sleeping with his head resting on my leg. Grin, at least he's not trying to mate with me .....yet. My blog does describe that day, if anyone's interested.

I would like to publically extend special thanks to Rich for putting up MySpace code for <B>IRCF Banner linkage</B> This is instrumental in helping to build IRCF's visibility and hopefully encourage interest in membership and participation. Rich knows how much IRCF means to me, and surprised me one evening with the MySpace code. I've already started seeing linkages on other profiles, who are in my "friends" network. Rich, just by doing what you did, you really have helped in playing a part in assisting with IRCF's goals of reptile conservation. You may think it's a small effort, but the rewards will be long-reaching.

Cheers!
des.

Hello,

Your welcome for the code des. I hope it drives many visitors to the IRCF and many subscription purchases! (The funds go toward the cause everyone!)

You should also thank Marsha. We were chatting when she told me how the IRCF would benefit from the links like the HC Network has on MySpace. I agreed and 15 minutes later you had a link waiting for you. Had she not mentioned that to me, I likely wouldn't have thought to make it for a long while.

If you have a MySpace page, check this out please: IRCF Linkage

A necropsy has been scheduled to help learn what exactly was going on in there and to help the vets learn more so that they can be better equipped to help other iguanas.

You can learn more by reading Des' blog: Vega$ Iguana

Des is an avid supporter of the IRCF. If anyone has considered donating to the HC Network after having received their taxes, why not divert those funds and donate them to the IRCF in Vega$ name.

"One of the principal aims of the IRCF is to support conservation and research programs that contribute to the survival of threatened reptiles and their habitats.

The IRCF works in concert with the scientific community, educators, and professional conservation organizations as a part of the total conservation solution."

This group deals with a vast amount of species but is known for their conservation efforts surrounding and supporting the Grand Cayman Blue Iguana.

If you would like to donate and learn more, please visit their site here: IRCF

(I am posting this on Des' behalf. She doesn't post here often but has been a financial supporter and informational advocate since the introduction of the HC Network. Those that keep iguanas and have done research online have come across Des or vega$ at some point.)
Well we are alll sorry for your loss
