New Forum Navigation

Hello,

I have just finished implementing an ajax powered navigation structure for the HC Network.

On the forum display page found here: Forum Home, you will see a navigation pane on the right hand side. The buttons in there control the forum listing.

Just click the button for the forum you wish to visit. When clicked, the sub-forum display for that category will appear, without a page refresh, on the left.

From there you can choose exactly where you want to go and post!

I would greatly appreciate some feedback on this new system. It took me almost 5 days to complete, so hopefully everyone likes it.

I forgot to mention that each category will also display the last 10 posts for that forum. (5 for the news forum.)

This means that by simply clicking the nav button for your favorite set of forums, you can see what threads have been posted in JUST that category!

Could everyone who reads this take a moment to try the system and leave some feedback in here. Feel free to be honest. I don't mind being critiqued!

Ok Rich, I played with it and could understand it, but it is going to take me a while to find everything again. Ok I know I'm slow at some of these things. One thing that I didn't like is that you couldn't see who started the thread only who posted last.

Hello,

Adding the thread starters name seems unneeded to me. In my eyes, it doesn't matter who started the thread. I am going to read it if I have the time. lol To keep the box small, and to limit queries, I opted to omit that piece of information. I also opted to not display the date or time of the post.

Rich, I like it. One idea is to include the dates... I know space, but if you get some people who dont look before they post you may get some necro posts. Just an idea. So far I like it lots.

I like it also and it is "friendly user". But I also agree with Mooglebass that including the date of the last post would be a good idea
