Herps in the Desert
Hello,
I'm moving to Arizona in 4 weeks and I was wondering what kind of herps I could expect to find out there and where to look. I'm not looking to catch any but I would definately love to go out into the nature and see what kind of different species I could find, especially herps. I just gotta watch out for them scorpions .

You've got a few rattlesnakes over there amongst other snakes, variety of lizards, probablly not too mant amphibians; spadefoots may possibly range there, and best of all gila monsters.

Like he said, GILA MONSTERS!!!! You also may be lucky to see sidewinders if you live in lower elevation desert area. I also believe that arizona is home to the mohave and western diamond back rattlesnake species.(i could be wrong on that though) Theres also several lizard species you can look out for. And im pretty sure arizona has some awesome tortoise species like the hingeback and golfer tortoise
