Hello,

I guess its safe to say that the owner doesn't watch his snake feed? lol Six hours to swallow that means he doesn't even bother to check in on the snake. In addition to that, he must feed live seeing as the rabbit must have gotten tangled in the blanket.

If you ask me this guy is irresponsible! Who the heck uses an electric blanket in the enclosure to heat a snake?
I could see a F/T rabbit getting tangled in the blanket and accidentally swallowed. What I can't understand is what the heck is an electric blanket doing in the enclosure in the first place. All it takes is one good gush of liquid and you have an electric shock hazard!
And 12 ft burm is capable of emitting quite a LARGE gush of liquid!

I don't own any snakes...yet, but even I was wondering what an electric blanket was doing in the enclosure.

Good grief! That poor snake I can't imagine putting food in a snake's enclosure without checking frequently to make sure there aren't any problems. I only very rarely have put food in the enclosure anyway as I usually use a feeding tank with a bare glass bottom (and I still check frequently for problems!). I started just going with the bare glass after a f/t pinky stuck to a paper towel and the snake would have just swallowed pinky, paper towel and all! I tried newspaper after that, but those darn f/t feeders wanted to stick to that too, even though I made sure they were completely dry, so I opted for bare glass. Works very well, and now the only foreign objects I have to worry about them swallowing are their own tails...but the only one who's tried to do that is Ky-Lin, and she's done it several times. I have to watch her closely...I think she would probably just keep going and swallow herself until it killed her.
