I just got back from Speed Week 2004 in Wendover UT. It was so much fun. Loud fast cars. hehehe. Well I took lots of pics too.^_^. There wasn't much to see but A LOT of salt and 1 range of mountains. They said we were on 2 ft. of salt.
We were at the half way point at mile marker three.
Here are the pics.

This guy broke the land speed record in his class by 5 mph.He went 417 MPH!!!! It has 2 blown HEMI'S, 2000 HORSEPOWER!.It was SOOO loud.he he he.^_^


This is the "salt flats" everything you can think of but stuff.you can't see it but 3 miles down is the start line.


I just love the car!^_^ it's old, its FAST 278 MPH!!! 1100 horsepower.^_^


I never thought I would find a monarch in the middle of the salt flats. ohh well

Just in case anybody wants to know how the alt got there...

It was from a Morton Salt tanker that crashed there many years ago. Not,it was from the salt is from the an ancient lake called Lake Bonneville, it covered much of northern and western utah. It was about 1000 ft. (305 meters) deep and coverd about 32000 sq.miles(about 51,500 sq. Km)
In the mountain pics you can see the old shore lines from the lake, its kinda cool to know this place was under so much water...There was so much salt that I had to take a lick of it...hahaha, yup its salt alright.^_^

Although we did not get to see the fastest run of the day because we got there around 8:30 my time and they started at 8. the air is denser and faster cars got to go really fast.
