The first time Talyn tagged me was a full bite on my left ear! OUCH!! I had two rows of teeth marks on the inside of my ear and a row of teeth marks on the back side.
Because of the huge amount of nerves in the ear, that one was more painful than the others. Her powerful jaw clamp also caused bruising which hurt longer than the bite wounds.
It bled like crazy and, to make it even worse, she bit me in front of 6 of my neighbours. (I was showing her off and she wanted to tell me that was quite enough)! EVERYONE cleared out FAST after that! So she made her point very clear to all!
And I learned my first important lesson about rainbow boas: they are OK with quiet, gentle handling, but don't enjoy being passed around with a lot of people making noise and movements.

Hey! have you been talking to Dubioius? That is where he got me the last time I got bit. He is a 7 ft. Burmese python though, not a Boa.

Are Boa's bites more severe in general than a pythons? Just curious; I never got bitten by a Boa before.

snake bites are more or less guaged by the size of the snake, i don't think itd make much difference if you got bitten by a 5 foot boa as opposed to being bitten by a five foot python.

but then again head size would probably be a factor too.

Getting bit wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I really hope not to get bit all the time though, I spose it was my 'right of passage' into the serious snake ownership club.
