night heat?>night glo moonlight lamp?

I just bought a new night heat bulb to try tonight. It is an exo terra Night Glo moonlight lamp type of bulb. I think it is going to be a blue color, but I haven't tried it yet. Anyway, it is supposed to simulate a moonlight night and promote healthy night temps. has anyone tried this bulb before and if so what do you think of it? I have been trying to find a good night bulb for weeks now. I couldn't get the ceramic because the lowest watt Petsmart had was 100W for $32.00! I need about a 60 or 75 watt bulb for night. I also got a 75 W sun glo, but I am not sure if that is going to be warm enough or if it will be a big enough difference in the temps (a 75W night glo and a 75W sun glo basking) from night to day. Any ideas? Well, I guess tonight I will see how it goes. Talk to you guys tomorrow.

Go to bigappleherp.com...thats where I get my Ceramic heat emmitters from, they come in black as well as white and I use a 175w(I think) for my boa and it keeps her nice and toasty at night as well as during the day. Ive used the blue niight bulb for my tarantula...its not a bad light just a waste of money IMO

How long do the ceramic heat last? I just ordered a 60W one (that should make my warm side to 70 or maybe alittle higher>at least that was the case with the other bulbs =))!

CHEs should output much more heat than light emitting lamps of same wattage so be careful when you install it.

I just buy black lightbulbs from the dollar store, that way its not a huge loss if one goes out, I have a few that have lasted me years.
