Fussy feeders! I may as well have human kids!

I'm going to sit here vent here because if I go in my room a certain hissy Dumeril's boa, who will remain nameless, who is in the feeding tub might hiss at me. I'm afraid that if she hisses at me she will stop swallowing the lovely chubby ratling I drove 2 hours to procure for her! Let me start at the beginning; she won't eat dead rodents (yet) so I have to feed her relatively harmless things like baby rats. Well first Her Highness hisses at me while I'm putting her in the feeding tub then she hisses at the rat and strikes at it defensively because it touched her THEN she ignored it for a half hour while I of course sat there because I can't leave her alone with live food but if I move she hisses at me. Well she finally decides she can constrict it, which takes another 15 minutes and then she has to look at it for an additional 5-10 minutes before starting the swallowing procedure during which of course I can't move or else I get hissed at! I managed to sneak out of the room. Now that I'm out of the Hiss Zone I've noticed that a certain prissy little girl leopard gecko, who will also remain nameless, has gone through her food dish and pain-stakingly picked out all the wax worms and left the meal worms. What pleasant "kids" I have! Does any of this sound like inappropriate feeding behaviors exhibited by human children to anybody else?
I don't actually expect any replies I just wanted to grumble about what annoying little scaly brats I'm raising and how much it reminded me of things real kids do sometimes. Well actually if you have similar stories about metaphorical bratty behavior I'd like to hear them...

PS- After completing this little rant I go in to check on the swallowing process and find both the rat and the snake absent from the tub and a few minutes later find the snake having an adventure under the bed. Extracting the snake of course took some banging around which I'm sure my landlords heard!

LMAO!!! I have tears streaming from my eyes, too funny!!

Looks like Rose has been bitten by the G.F.W.D. bug as well! - soon all your reptiles will be infected and there'll be no way out for you!!! Mwahahahahaha

But don't worry - certain members of our herp family, who shall also remain nameless, are spoiled little brats who decide to be choosy and picky when it comes to feeding time.. i blame the parents!

Great, that was a good read lol,

yep I have a few picky ones, and a certain little Bearded Dragon who rummages through his bowl for the best, but he prefers the mealies to the wax worms, if I put in a few of each he will eat just the mealies, i have tried with just waxworms on there own, he turns his nose up at them, he will have the odd waxworm now and then, and a certain Chameleon who is very fussy.

LMAO at Heather!
Just be thankfull that she is eating! You ought to deal with ball pythons that decide not to eat for 6 months at a time!

I know what you mean, tonite 3 out of 5 ball pythons snubbed their food.
Thankfully Lenore isn't that picky (rats, mice, large small, jumbo. she doesn't care) lol

O.K. I will trade you my kids for your snakes . My oldest daughter will eat anything that moves, so you won't have a problem there. My youngest daughter is picky, but will eat after a fast she eats relatively easily. Now that I have solved your problem, let's get this switch underway.. The sacrifices I make for my reptile friends. Get with me on the details of arrival dates.

Do they cook, clean, clean help feed, clean snakes, etc?? I'll trade for 7 baby Bearded Dragons who will eat you out of house and home! Fair swap I think
