Meet 'N Greets: An idea.

On the flipside of my hobby situation, a few of us in Florida (And the rest of the Dixie Chapter) partake in meet 'n greets to befriend other people that are also interested in "Offroading/trail riding" and all the aspects of such; it's also about meeting up with old friends and catching up on stories and telling each other lies.

Now, on this aspect of my hobby interests, it seems people rarely meet up, except maybe one or two people from within short distances from each other. I feel it would be a nice idea to start having meet and greets every so often since I know a few of us are from Florida, and many congrigate in the same states outside of Florida. I figure it would help make friends and have a reason to waste gas and go herping.

Just an idea I had since we just recently got back from our latest Dixie Chapter meet and Greet.

What cha' think?

I think its a good idea for places that have a large herper density...too bad i'd pretty much have to hop a plane to meet any active HC members. Sometimes it seems like im the only one around here (eastern wa) that gives a rats behind about my herps.

This would be a great idea for those in close proximity. However some of us live out where there is nobody else around.

always have like different meeting areas that suite the people in that area or close to it rather than one big party

Yeah, as for our $x$ club, we have our meet n Greets in several locations of the state. Even in other Dixie States if the meeting is large enough
