I got a question that might be, how can I say personal judgement, but when should a lizard cage be cleaned out?
I have a AFT and I have a 30x30 Terrainium, pretty big for one AFT but she likes it. And I poopy scoop everyday with a plastic spoon, and I pick out the dead crickets and anything else that shouldn't be there. I have all fake plants and a piece of drift wood, a half log hide and a rock hide and a water dish. I also have a syrofoam contoured rock looking back, and I use a sand type substrate kind of feels like river sand. How often should I change the substrate, and clean all the stuff inside, I don't want to clean it every week and stress her out!
How if any does cricket feces affect the living area, I know it sounds stupid and I know it affects it somehow all feces in any area is not good in one form or another, and thats why I'm asking this question, I can see it laying around the terrainium, and when do I say when and clean it?
And I have came to the conclusion that I don't like chirping crickets, I have been trying to catch this one for about two days and with no luck I haven't been able to get it, but reptina must have been annoyed with it and got it herself. Who said ambient noise was good!

I have a much different lizard (ig) and larger cage but here goes anyway:

I spot clean daily -- replace papers that need it on the floor, remove spilt food and shed etc

Weekly I remove the climbing toys and spray / brush them off in the bath tub. At this time I also remove the floor liner (solid plastic) and clean that thoroughly too.

Come to think of it with my design I have never had to do more than spot clean the walls and door of my cage.
