Dogs and Cats only prices 1-5 pets
$3.00 a day up to 6 days
$20.00 a week

6-10 pets
$5.00 a day up to 6 days
$30.00 a week

rodents, small birds and REPTILES 1-5 pets
$2.50 a day up to 6 days
$16.00 a week

6-10 pets
$4.00 a day up to 6 days
$25.00 a week

A: cats and dogs stay at the owners home, it causes alot less stress on older pets and young puppys

other critters would be optinal for the pets to come to my house but most birds and reptiles would probably also stay at thier home...

I think your idea is feasible but you really need to think it through a bit more. There are some definite areas that you need to look at.

Your groupings seem to be a little limited. There is a lot of difference in taking care of a 10 gal tank with a gecko or small cornsnake as opposed to one 6 ft iguana or 10 ft python.

The next question is are you planning on sitting for just any kind of animal or only those with which you have some previous knowledge and experience. Taking care of a species you are not familiar with can get you in all sorts of trouble.

Do you have a plan worked out if the animal becomes ill and you have to take it to a vet?

What happens if the animal should die while in your care? Will you be held responsible? Theres a very good possibilty that you will.

And lastly are you limiting it to just in your immediate neighborhood? With the cost of fuel you may end up paying far more just to get you back and forth to your destination than you are charging.

ok, i see were ur coming from... but I dont know any one with a 10' python

mostly with animals I know about, i worked in a petstore for a while and have worked with many animals, i would never do something exotic to the point like I have never heard of and what not

yes, i always get a list from the owners with phone # for say parents and ther vet

if it was my falt say a hamster dying of no water I would take responsibility for it yes...

yah just my neighborhood, and my close friends... im not going to put an add up in the paper or anything I dont want somthing that big... just wnough to save up for some new cages and supplys for my herps...

I was thinking more along the lines of something unexpected happening while the animal was in your care. Not to belittle hamnsters but I was thinking along more expensive lines. If you are caring for someone's expensive animal and it dies unexpectedly while they were gone you could be held responsible and have to come up with the money to replace it.
Just something to think about.

i know, i was just using a hamster...

umm I think that if it turned out to be like that I would want there vet to do a biopsy(sp) or whatever it is were they look to see how it died, say like of impaction or falling or somthing like that that I could not have helped...
