Corn Feeding Behavior
Ok guys explain this one to me, please. I feed the corns in feeding boxes (plastic shoe boxes) using F/T fuzzies. One will wonder around the box flicking it tongue etc, but won't go near the fuzzy. He will not eat until his box is covered and no one can see inside. Is this crazy or what? At first I though this was a fluke, but this is 3 feedings in a row...

Perfectly normal. If you think about it in terms of wild instinct, when a snake is feeding they are very vulnerable. They have their head anchored by the large prey so they can't run and their mouth is filled so they can't bite. The snake wants to feel secure before starting to eat.
With time this may change. Mine are so used to me they will eat no matter what is going on.

one of my corns will eat no matter whats going on too. my other one used to eat no matter what as well but now he and my rosy boa like to be covered before they eat as well. i feed them all in separate containers and then cover them with a towel so its dark. usually works.
