Sorry for the neglect
I want to apologue for not being on the past few days. You have all been supportive of Sean and myself and I like to at least welcome new member to Herp Center. Unforuntually about 2 weeks ago my mother-in-law had a stroke. She is 83 and had nothing in place in case of an emergency. My husband's family has been trying to access the situtation and steer her in the right direction as to her future. My husband and myself went across the state to spend the weekend with her and check out her progress. It seems as though she will have to be placed in a nursing home, now a decision is to where in the state. The major reason she wants to stay on the west side of Michigan is to continue volunteering at the John Ball Zoo. I wish I could see this in her future, but it isn't likely. Oh well enough, I'll try to at least welcome people, but still might be sketchy.
Welcome to Herp Center all of you I have missed!!!

Just bring a doctor's note and three estimates . Sorry to hear it Colleen. I hope that it all works out. As you know, I have a wee little medical problem myself and am sometimes missing in action physically. Even if you know that she may never return to the zoo, don't intentionally let her know it as it sounds like one of the loves of her life. Don't forget... you know how to get ahold of me off thread.

I'm sorry to hear that Colleen. We understand that when it comes to family crises a forum is way down the list in priority! You just go ahead and take care of what you need to do for your family.
We will still be here when you get back around to us.
Hugs, love, and hisses , to you, Sean and the rest of your family

Hang in there Colleen. I know how hard it is to make those kinds of decisions but never give up hope. People can make some of the most miraculous recoveries when thay have a goal to look forward to. She may do surprisingly well with rehab and shock the he** out of everyone. Best of luck. Keep us posted.
