ok..i went in petco today..getting pinkies and stuff..i go look at the reptiles..this poor leopard gecko is with three other leo's..it's half eaten alive..i could pretty much see every single bone in it's body..so I tell the person who works there..and she says oh how horrible..goes and gets a box and THROWS it in there..what a dipchit, then I say "if you want I can come 3 days a week or so, and keep all the reptiles healthy, have them in the right temps...and feed them the right foods.." she says..oh no thanks we have enough staff...
now theres no way they care about their animals in that shop.. this just p*sses me off...they probably just put the gecko in the back untill I left..and then dumped back in the cage to die..pfft

Alrite...heres the deal with petco...every petco in the country rite now is trying to improve..some more successfully then others and you may not believe it..but its true, petco hired a ton of what they call "bench managers" who are firing any employee tehy dont find suitable...what petco was this? Give me the address and the employees name and I can see to it that he dosnt work there any longer...they are also givng every employee tests about the animals they have to care for and if they dont pass them they are supposed to be fired...And for the record..I stil hate petco.

i can't even remeber the name..the first one I told abotu the gecko said she'd be back with keys....and never came back, then I got this other person, and she got the keys and put it in the back. it's a petco in louisiana..btw they didn't een have a moist hide..i know it's only temp housing..but they should ATLEAST get the right heat and food for the poor animals..when I go back I will try to get the exact place and the name of that person, thanks.

the oen that used to be "just for feet"..i have a feeling she was scared to touch it so she just hurried up and plopped it in the box..

Alot of the petco employees at the petco up here have been fired cuz they didnt feed the herps or take care of them properly due to the fact that they were "scared" of them

I see the same thing at Meijers stores with guinea pigs. They don't know how to sex them and have both males and females together. Usually they are older (breeding age) so, some surprised customer will end up with a litter of pigs.

My nearest Petco seems to be hit and miss. The enclosures are too small, but some of the staff is very caring and knowledgable.
