what to get?

i'm not done my new viv yet, but i'm looking around to see what herps I should get for in it so I can get proper caresheets etc ahead of time and do plenty of reseach on them before gettign them.

the inside area they will have will be a 2ft deep x 2'6" high x 6' area
for landscaping thier will be a 2ft mountain in one corner with a cascading waterfall down it into a river that zigzags to the opposite end of the tank and empties into a pond. thier will also be lots of plants and the back of the viv will be modeled after a jagged clifface thats in a local park.

for wildlife, i want to use species that will possibly make the most out of the area. so something that climbs would be good. but thier will also be caves abd hides under the dirt and in the mountain, so ground dwelling animals are also good. with all the tropical plants, i'd prefer the animals to be small. also, the climate will resemble that of a tropical rainforest.

also, i'd like species to be compatible with each other as i'd like to have more then one type of animal in the tank. 1 single type of animal in a huge tank, even if lots of em, can quickly become boring. although different color patterns of the animals can help prevent this.

so...matching the above requirements/descriptions, what would the best lizards/frogs be for inside the viv that would make full use of it?

have you considered posion dart frogs? they are colorful and fun to watch, and fairly cheap too. And I understand what you are saying by you want to mix thigs up a little in your tank..but you have to be veryyy careful about what species you houe together..they all must have the same husbandry/heating/humidity requirements..you could always get a tank divider and divde the enclosue into 2 sides and have 2 diff species in it that way..

yea, i've always been a fan of frogs. catching them in the wild to look at em and release em, and watching em hop around tanks in petshops. thier so cute.

mantellas seem easy to care for, are available in ground dwelling, mid level and higher level living species from that all have overlapping humidity and temperature ranges. a male and few females from a few different species useing different elevations could easily make full use of the large terrarium.

I was looking into mantellas myself till I found out they aren't as easy to care for as one might think.
From what I've read, many PDF species are easier to keep than mantellas.
