Rants and Raves!

Ok, I don't usually go bashing petsmart. They are out to make money - not caring for the animals, but.... I was buying some crickets and as usual looked at their herps. They had a Jackson's Chameleon in a cage with almost no hiding plants and was literally the size of a shoe box. It was almost white in color. I told one of the employees and they agreed that it would most likely die from mistreatment either there or at someone's home. That is just sick.

Dont feel bad Richard...I do this weekly...whether its petsmart or petco...neither have temps no where near standard for the reptiles, their husbandry stinks..I could go on and on...the only thing you could do is call corporate like I do.

From what I could tell the poor thing might as well be dead. Being very light in color is a sign of overheating. The cham was actually on the floor of the cage with some kind of fiber substrate, cowering in a hide like you would use for a gecko! No ventalation. I'm not sure if you could have designed a more wrong enclosure. I give it a week at best in there.
