Hey there everyone. before I get started im not intentionally being rude or anything like that. but honestly whats going on with the forums latly. is it just me or do they seem to be kind of dieing off? i love these forums but latly there hsnt been much that has caught my eye and seriously intrested me. its great that we have so many members and new members every day. but we really need some new contests or something to spice it up. i know others share the same view but I wont mention any names and ill take the fall if any of the moderators take this offensivly. plus I cant say that im any better. i havnt been posting in what seems like forever. will be intresting to see what you all think of this!

Rich promised contests would start back up once everything is in order, he's been working hard to get everything in line. In the mean time, post more often and start more topics that cause people to think.

The activity on the HC Network has been consistently increasing, not declining. I know several people are looking forward to the contests starting up again. We are working on that. I have a lot of things going on right now in reference to the site and new features that I will be adding. I will try to bump out a contest shortly.

When I return from some running around I need to do today, I will see what the staff and I can come up with.

Generaly I have noticed that forums, chat rooms and the like, seem to slow down depeneding on the season, the weather, school and work. Over the summer months the forums ive been to pick up alot, but the last part of aug. they slow to a crawl. they pick up come winter break, then slow back down, then pick up in the spring and full steam ahead in summer.

Every forum does it, its just there are factors to condiser on how the posts happen and all.

Activity levels do fluctuate by season. The winter months seem to be the best time of the year for new memberships and activity. This is normally do to the weather outside. There isn't much to do during the winter so people are indoors more and use their computers more.

I watch the stats for the site pretty regularly and HC has been on the climb for a few months now. The activity and the memberships have increased 3x over now. This I believe is do to the season. lol It's cold outside so people are looking around and finding more stuff on the internet....like HC.

Every site should/does have a core group of users that are fairly regular posters. This helps to keep the site moving and helps carry everyone over til the stats pick up again.

Contests also help with activity. They keep people checking in so they can see how they are doing.

You can also look at it this way. A goodly amount of new posts often consist of:
My animal is sick,
or how do I...
or why is it....?
A lesser amount of posts can mean that everything is going smoothly for people.
I consider that a good thing.

i wasnt refering to the amount of posts. i agree with merlin. the majority are just what he said. but latly ive noticed alot mroe intresting posts coming up. i may have been quick on the gun on this one
