I wish I could show you pics of mine but not for a couple more years .
I've noticed you work with several species of corallus. As I get closer and closer to getting one, which one would you recommend? I really like the ETBs but they all have their individiual qualities.

Hey,
We only work with caninus and our experience has been that they are quite mellow. We don't handle them on a daily basis, more of an as needed basis, but I am not concerned about getting bitten, nor have any animals that I have to be particularly cautious with when handling. I can't comment on other corallus species as I have no experience with them. When I decided to get back into snakes after a 20+ year hiatus, emeralds are what I started with and decided to specialize in.

Well you picked a wonderful species to specialize in. Ive been drooling on my keyboard over your recent pics. Did you have previous snake experience, or did you just dive right in?
Are you out of Daytona? My parents are from Flagler.

I'll bet just about all of us on the forum wish they had a snake or two like yours...but we don't, so we just have to sit here and imagine that your snakes are really ours LOL
Dreams are great!

I had some pretty extensive snake experience in the '70's. I was pretty deep into "hots". Emeralds were my first arboreals and what I started with when I got back into snakes. So, depending on how you look at it, I guess I dove right in! lol. My own experience probably biases my view about emeralds making good "starter arboreals". Plus the fact that from what I see people post about amazon tree boas being extemely "bite prone". Anyway, I am down in Pembroke Pines, which is a little south and west of Ft. Lauderdale.
Jem,
I hope that more and more folks get into these incredible animals. I realize that people want to interact with their herps and that emeralds are really not candidates for daily handling, but their majestic presence and incredible colors are what attracted me not the necessity to be able to handle them.

Dogboa, if you give me one of your snakes, then I'll have one too and then we can have a discussion! Yep, sounds like a plan to me. I get a free snake, and you get someone to talk about corallus with. Both ends are happy, its the perfect idea. yep, perfect idea.
