My Pac Man died
Hi My little guy was dead this morning when I checked on him. He was moving around yesturday. He was getting thin but still seemed fine. He had some reptile bedding and stayed buried most of the time... He ate the first 5 days crickets and wax worms... but wouldn't eat since then. He was dead in his dish this morning.I don't know if it means anything or not but he seemed to flip over alot. I found him on his back numerous times... a few of them in his water dish but the water wasn't deep...I don't know if they are just that uncoordinated or it had something wrong...I'm taking him back to the pet store tomarrow they are going to send him in to the university to see if it was a diease and what was his cause of death. If anyone has any ideas I'd appreciate it.. I hope I didn't do something wrong..I miss the little guy. Thanks, Steph

Hi Steph, sorry about your loss.
A quick rundown on the rest of the setup will help. And that is a nice thing for the petstore to try and do but I really doubt a necropsy will give you any leads, other than an impaction, due to the specimen not being immediately preserved.
If he was flipping over almost in a spasm it was more than likely a shortage or overdose of a vitamin or mineral. Were you supplementing and with what?

So sorry Steph. As Cody suggested, it could have been a deficiency in diet but I suppose that we will have to wait and see what the narcopsy turns up.

i really have no idea what to give you in the way of advice, but i'm sorry you lost your frog. that really bites. Hopefully a necropsy will work out for you.
and that petstore that you got it from...i'd like their name. if they are offering to send the specimen off to a university, that to me means tthey actually care about their animals and are trying to better understand them. I'd do business with them again if I were you.

I'm so sorry for your loss, Steph. I definitely agree with Adam -- your petstore is doing the right thing, and you don't often see that. It's good of them to send him for the necropsy; I hope it gives you some answers.
