People continue to release unwanted reptiles at an alarming rate, It's so sad and much of the blame resides in pet stores out for the almighty $....we actually had a small carnival here in Virginia Beach where you tossed the ping-pong ball into the globe and won an Iguana. There were hundreds given away in 2 days before the animal control/wildlife experts were notified (it's illegal in Va.),,,,I wonder how many of those poor Igs were let loose once mommy and daddy realized the commitment !!!!

Speaking of herps in the news
At the theater showing Anacondas...there is an 8 ft Burmese Python on the loose. They have a "snake catcher" looking for him.

People bite...
To most people here a animal is just replaceable.....especially herps! Now maybe not the owner (child) But the parent cause after you set a example like that the kids just follow suit.....and they think animals are replaceable !!!!!!

Unfortunately we live in a very self centered "throw away" society. If something doesn't suit you just pitch it!

Now THAT might be a reality show actually worth watching!

Whaaaaat! So some moron actually took a python to the Anaconda movie? What was he thinking?
Or was it just another putz that thought it would be cool to scare people with the snake.

I hate people that won't take the time to learn about the animals they buy.
It makes no sense to me why they refuse to learn anything but still they buy it, then have the guts to just let it go when they can't figure it out.
We have the internet now for gods sakes...push a button or two and LEARN!!
Makes me so mad....I'll shut up now

Poor caiman Glad they caught him before the cold did. Did you know there's actually an established population of caimans in southern florida? There's some international airport down there and in the surrounding area there are breeding populations of all kinds of exotic critters that have escaped over the years from shipments coming in.
