just wanted to know
Hi. I'm not sure if this is where I would post this subject ( not herp related). I want to get a digital camera and just want to know what ones would you suggest? I had one of them throw aways, but I can't hook it to the computer or turn the flash off. It is really hard to take a picture of a tank ( like a fish tank ) with the flash on. So what kind should I get? I am sorry if this is in the wrong place if it is please just delete it.
Thank you Cheryl

I've got two excelent digitals. One, PocketDV 3100 by Aiptek doesn't have a flash and needs a lot of light around it to work so I use this outside and at herp shows since it's usually bright in there. In addition its equppied with video, microphone and webcam so it does everything I need it too. the other one, PowerShot A520 from Canon has flash and video but no microphone so this is my primary herp camera. The flash is VERY bright though so it often takes over 50 shots to get a single photo I like

My fav point and shoot digital was my Nikon Coolpix 3100. It was just the best thing I'd ever owned! It broke and was so expensive to fix so we went to get a new one. The 3100 was no longer made but we got the 3200 instead. It was crap. I hated it! So we exchanged it for a Fujifilm FinePix S3000. It's pretty good but still not as good as my 3100 was...
Good luck!

Hey Cheryl. I currently use a Fujifilm A345. It is 4.1 megapixels but allows you to change the pixel use to get more pics at a time. I'm not a photography expert and I find it really easy to use and hook up to the PC. It came with a memory stick and you can upgrade that if you feel the need. It has a flash that you ca turn on, off, reduce red eye, and a fully adjustable setting option for landscapes, portraits and stuff. I just set everything to auto and most of the time get a good picture first go! I think I paid about £150 for it (don't know how many dollars that is) but I think it was a good investment. Hope this helps

Cheryl,
I have owned 3 Kodak digitals, and for the most part was pleased with their "user friendly" features, but the last 2 I had, seemed to take dark pics! So my latest is a cannon power shot A520. Pretty easy to use, and pics come out very nice. You can get digi's for under $200 now. I wouldn't worry about having to have a high megapixal, 2-3 mp is plenty for most people. Steven |

I've posted what kind of camera I use before, and yet every time someone asks I still have to go look for the name...Its a hewlett packard photosmart m307 I think. It was a pretty good deal, it came with the dock, printer, memory card and everything you could possibly need for just $130.
Its been good to me....It was really cheap, but it works aweome, and it has a macro setting for taking pictures up close, and different color settings and flash settings.

Thank you for responding. I am going to look at them tonight at my local walmart. Still can't get one until after the holidays but since I'm going christmas shopping there I will check them out. I think that I have seen this one Fujifilm A345 in k-mart before. I will see if they have it.

Hee hee. No problem Cheryl. I realize that you are in Philly. (I was born and raised in East Falls and have relatives in Roxborough, Torresdale, Bridesburg, East Falls, and Manayunk
) You should have no problem falling in love with the selection of digitals at Wally World.
